The Teenagers of Today

Teenagers today are a whole lot different than yesterday. The new generation has a lot of new trends, new style and a new attitude. They are more equipped with gadgets and gizmos in comparison to the yesteryears. They tend to travel a lot, their destinations are indefinite. You saw them at the corner, the next thing you know they have gone off to another place else. I can say that the generation today is never contented with what they have. Furthermore, they tend to be lazy knowing that there is technology to aid them in time of their need. They are also very abusive. Most teenagers nowadays enter drugs. They are very problematic. They do not open up that easy for other people. They dress a bit weird; weird enough to consider if they are wearing clothes or not. Lastly, teenagers nowadays are very dependent. They cannot stand on their own. They need the help of their parents to get out of their problems. They are a cry baby to put it. You might be as well wondering why I know so much about them. It is because sadly I am one of them, a TEENAGER.

Teenager addiction nowadays is addiction to computers. Among the computer products, they usually buy are PSPs, Playstation, XBOX and Nintendos. Supposed to be, games are to be played when there are no homework or projects. However, in time today, teenagers play these games regardless of whether or not they have projects or not. Teenagers nowadays are easily addicted and are easily fascinated with technology. Computer games are a good innovation, especially when these are the strategic type of games, which would enhance the cognitive skills of teenagers. If ever teenagers would like playing such games, they should learn to budget their time so that they have time for work and time for play. Or better yet, they should learn to discipline themselves. Time management regarding their problem is of high essence.

Destinations of teenagers are usually malls. They even say that Ayala is for barkada and SM is for family. They ship a lot in malls. During weekends, you will notice malls filled with teenagers. My advice for these types of teenagers is that they would learn to say no. Socialization is good but it has its own limits. Learn to budget time again. There is a time for almost everything.

Teenagers are also fond of traveling. During semester breaks or summer breaks, they usually plan to go to destinations using boats and planes. They usually travel like tourists to another provinces to witness spectacular places and heart-throbbing events. Your break is never complete if you won’t travel. Before teenagers would just stay at home and watch TV, but now they are on the go and are even the first to initiate trips. In my case, it is best to reward yourself after a stressful school year, and I must agree that traveling is fun, but it is also very costly. However, nonetheless, the money spent would be really worth it, especially if you’re with you special someone.

Moving on, you have the most loved among teenagers, fashion. It is easy to spot out teenagers now because they usually blend in their own kind. They stand out from other age groups. They try to make their own fashion statement other than what is traditional. It is really good that teenagers have their own fashion. At least in this way, they can be more independent. They are able to express what they feel. It is said that whatever you wear, it also reflects what you think and feel about yourself and about others.

As time pass by, teenagers would always be the fun moments of life. It is where you meet friends and learn to socialize with the world. Most importantly, it is where you face challenges, obstacles and downfalls. Through these, one can learn what life is and how to live it out to the fullest. The age group of teenagers is the type wherein it involves identity and role confusion. It is the time when you mingle with others and explore the world. Judging by how the teenagers act today, they are indeed on the right track.
